Korean Researchers Develop World's Thinnest Wire for Chips

According to the Korean Ministry of Science and Technology, a group from Yonsei University's Center for Atomic Wires and Layers has developed the world's thinnest metallic wire for chips, measuring only two nanometers in width. The group started its research project in 2003, and it has been supported with US$2.14 million from the ministry, which stated that it will continue to support this semiconductor research until 2011.
